The mysterious and multi-talented ParanormL first began as a hip-hop scribe at the tender age of 14. Now, more than a decade later, this rapper and lyricist has recorded over five albums worth of material, and over one hundred and fifty songs! So why have you never heard of this gifted boy wonder? ParanormL’s productions witness a welcome return to conscious lyrics, proper song writing, and a respectful connection between the roots and the shoots of rap culture. ‘Shapes Of Jazz’ sees our man hooking up with East Coast outfit Tableek of Maspyke, and tipping his hat to inspirations like ‘Satchmo’ and Ella, as well as A Tribe Called Quest, De LA Soul and Souls Of Mischief. It also sees tender keys (sounding something like a loop from a Minnie Ripperton and Charles Stepney cut) and perfectly placed hip-hop beats laying the foundation for that other-worldly sound. Of course, if righteous lyrics aren’t your thing, there are always the fat beats of producer Stylus One & Freddy Joachim and the ‘abstract hip-hop’ flavour on the instrumental versions of this trio of top-notch ‘jazz hop’ nuggets to get your filthy mitts on. The ParanormL knew he had found his true calling. Deeply inspired by innovators like De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, Pharcyde, Souls of Mischief and Freestyle Fellowship, he started the group S.H.P. (Seventh Heaven Planets) and began rockin' shows. The ParanormL produced, recorded, mastered, and performed on all of S.H.P.'s material, including the group's two albums ("Re-Evalution" & "Chemistry"). This experience served him well as he has matured and naturally progressed into one of Undergorund's most respected solo acts with albums including "The Fundamentals", "Live Sound Infinite", "Time Capsule", "The Return" and his latest album with J.Rawls of (Lone Catalyst) fame on the beats titled "P & J Project". Now on his forthcoming album ("T.A.P Oneness") uniting with soul vocalist Adam Payne from Boston and French beat conductor Terem on productions, this super trio intends on bringing some highly intense music with meaning and message, 'tapping' into the universal mind to spread their unique vibrations of Oneness. "T.A.P" is an acronym for (TEREM/ ADAMPAYNE/ PARANORML), 'Tapping' into the (Oneness) is their mission, courtesy Terem's heavy Soul orientated rhythms, Adam Payne's mind melting harmonies and ParanormL capping it off with thought provoking words play delivered like no one else, this project will unlock your chakra's and maybe cure your ills in the process.
